Sainsbury s Prestwick has presented local charity Safe Haven with a community grant for £150.00. Safehaven is a drug and alcohol free environment based in St Quivox Ayrshire where women can help each other gain the strength and confidence to guide them on the road to recovery and plan a brighter and better future. It is a home from home. w.safehavenscotland.co.uk This will help to support towards the cost of food and hygiene and cleaning products. The Sainsbury s community grant scheme helping charitable groups in the local community is funded by sales of Bags for Life this means that customers at Sainsbury s Prestwick are not only doing great things for the environment but are also making a contribution to their local community when they buy a bag for life. The store manager Marc Watson said Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we can do as much as we can to support it. When we heard about Safe Haven we were really pleased to be able to help out. Last year alone the community grants scheme provided £159000 worth of donations nominated by store managers and colleagues from stores nation wide.
